CMAP operates under the provisions of Community Builders (FACS).
The target group for Community Builders is communities
in NSW, especially the disadvantaged members of those communities. This
may include groups of participants who live in the same place or area or
participants who share a common identity feature.
Funded activities align
with the Community Skills Development Service Model. CMAP provides information, training and mentoring to members of the community and community organisations, so that access
to and knowledge of community resources is improved.
Community Skills Development
includes:
The building of
skills which assist disadvantaged members of communities to access
community resources and networks and enhance their connectedness to their
community;
Training in
leadership to increase resilience and access to resources for those
communities;
Training and
mentoring for individuals and groups in how to establish and run
community organisations e.g. basic governance for community groups,
running meetings, incorporation, financial management.
The CMAP
mission
is to strengthen the viability of communities by enhancing the management
capacity and financial stability of the nonprofits, individuals and
organisations that support those communities. Non-profit organisations continue to meet the critical
needs of our most vulnerable citizens. In turn, CMAP continues to meet
the vital management needs of these same nonprofits.
